The weekend before Thanksgiving, it was P's turn to bring Freddy, the class frog, home. Freddy spends each weekend of the school year with one of the second graders in his classroom, and then the host or hostess writes about Freddy's weekend in Freddy's journal. Freddy and the journal return to school on Monday.
Saturday of Freddy's visit was a busy day! C had to disguise a turkey for his kindergarten homework. Is anyone surprised that he disguised his turkey by dressing it to look like Queen Elsa from
Frozen?
For lunch, we had one of P's favorite meals. Luckily, Freddy was up for chicken nuggets and flies for lunch.
Saturday night was the tree lighting ceremony downtown. Normally we skip the lighting because it's before Thanksgiving and there's tons of Christmas activities, but Daddy A wanted Freddy to have something fun for his journal, so we headed to the ceremony. The boys got their faces painted.
We ran into one of Freddy's friends from last year, and Freddy just had to say hello.
All
three boys saw Santa...
...but Freddy added some personal requests.
The boys wrote letters to the North Pole. P helped Freddy with his letter, and Santa wrote back to Freddy care of P's teacher at school. That was a fun surprise for the whole class!
While roasting marshmallows, P and C ran into one of their favorite sitters.
It's a good thing, too, because Freddy ended up needing some help roasting his marshmallow.
What a fun Saturday!
