a visit with some good friends

Some really good friends of ours moved away several years ago.  We visited them in Florida in the summer of 2012, and then they moved to Virginia.  While we were visiting Virginia Beach, we took the opportunity to meet up with them and spend a day together.

Since they have season passes to Busch Gardens, it seemed like a no brainer that we should start our day there.  We convinced Holland that she could handle Grover's Alpine Express without her mom... and then she changed her mind right after everyone was locked into their seats!  Of course, she and P both survived and all was well.

C used his princess radar to find a "princess show" on our first visit to the park last summer, and he requested that we see the show a second time.  He ran over to hug Princess Luna as she was about to enter her dressing room, and she agreed to take a picture with C.  She was so sweet!

Holland and the boys got along like the old friends that they are, and it gave Carin and I some time to hang out, too.

We left the park and headed to dinner at our friends' house.  The food was delicious and the fellowship was even better.  They tried to prey on my weakness for shaved ice by taking us to a local sno cone place and trying to convince us to move nearby... it almost worked.  Who wouldn't want to live within walking distance of a delicious treat?

We were so glad we got to spend a day with our friends!
