Grandfather Mountain

During our spring break this year, Grandma Paige and Poppa Fred came to visit for a few days.  One day, we headed to Grandfather Mountain.  Despite living in Morganton for almost seven years, we hadn't been as a family yet.  In fact, I went on a field trip this past fall, and no one else in our family had been at all.  We had a blast, and we will definitely make a return visit.

The boys were nervous about climbing the rock formations at first, but after a tutorial from a former camp counselor {yours truly}, they got the hang of it!

We enjoyed watching the animals.

We thought these two specimens were especially cute, so we decided to take them home with us.  :)

P even got Grandma Paige to pose for a photo!

The bridge was closed when we arrived due to windy conditions, but it was opened later in the day. Both of the boys made the trip across.

It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed our time together!
