in your Easter bonnet

Grandma Hen and Granddaddy came to visit Easter weekend.  Grandma Hen sent the boys a set of Resurrection Eggs this year.  For anyone late to the party, it's a set of 12 plastic eggs with a small symbol of the Easter story inside each egg.  We opened one egg each day leading up to Easter and opened the last one on Easter Sunday.  The boys got very into "opening our egg" each day, and our set came with a booklet and some suggested Bible verses for each day, too.  I thought it was a nice way to marry the true story of Easter with the secular tradition of looking for plastic eggs left by a large member of the Phylum Chordata.

Daddy A was already at church when we arrived, but Grandma Hen did get a photo of Granddaddy with my other two boys.  The three of them make a handsome bunch!

As usual, our buddy Scott Davis made specialty pancakes for P and C at the church pancake breakfast.

Daddy A has been eating gluten free for almost a year now, but the rest of us enjoyed our wheat filled breakfast. And, most of all, we celebrated again the gift of eternal life, paid for by Jesus, who conquered death and rose again on that first Easter Sunday.  Hallelujah!
