P goes to the dentist

P has always LOVED brushing his teeth. (C is following in his big brother's footsteps, which is really nice to see - in this case, anyway.) Last spring, when P turned 3, he and I headed to the dentist for his first checkup. He did fine (although he was a bit more nervous than I had anticipated), but since it was his first visit, they cleaned his teeth and called it a day, rather than having the dentist spend lots of time poking around in his mouth. Our dentist is phenomenal, and one nice thing about his office is that they want to do everything they can to make every child's first visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible.

In December, P had his first full visit to the dentist. Once again, he had a good report.

He was a little nervous again this time, but was very excited to be given a rubber glove that he could blow up like a balloon.

In no time at all, he was quite happy with his position in the chair.

He was very still and pleasant while he had his teeth cleaned.

P and I left the dentist's office with a new toothbrush, a new pencil, some stickers, an appointment to come back early this summer, and smiles on our faces!
